Saint Patrick was a Christian missionary and the Apostle of Ireland. He was born around 385 AD near Dumbarton in Scotland the son of a Roman nobleman. His real name is believed to have been Maewyn Succat; his baptismal name is Patricius. He was just 16 when his village was attacked. He was captured and sold into slavery in Ireland where he worked as a shepherd. After six years of being beaten and treated poorly, he escaped to Gaul (present day France). He returned to Ireland as a missionary where he is credited for converting the population to Catholicism.
Patrick was quite successful at winning converts. And this fact upset the Celtic Druids. Patrick was arrested several times, but escaped each time. He traveled throughout Ireland, establishing monasteries across the country. He also set up schools and churches which would aid him in his conversion of the Irish country to Christianity.
Some of this lore includes the belief that Patrick raised people from the dead. He also is said to have given a sermon from a hilltop that drove all the snakes from Ireland. Of course, no snakes were ever native to Ireland, and some people think this is a metaphor for the conversion of the pagans. Though originally a Catholic holy day, St. Patrick's Day has evolved into more of a secular holiday.
His mission in Ireland lasted for thirty years. After that time, Patrick retired to County Down. He died on March 17 in AD 461. That day has been commemorated as St. Patrick's Day ever since
The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over a thousand years. On St. Patrick's Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink, and feast—on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.

WE WONDER WHY OUR COUNTRY IS GOING DOWN THE TUBES...
We wonder why our young people are so messed up. Well how about this...
We had a President that was a liar and covered up a break-in. We had a President who had sex in the Oval Office, one of the highest most respected places in the land. We had a President who didn't know how to communicate to ordinary people, and a bias news media that picked him apart until most everyone hated him. We have a congress that rarely show up for work and vote them selves whatever pay raise they want. We have congressmen that cheat on their taxes, and get hired by our President to be an authority figure. We have Priest's that molest children, and the church covers it up. We have churches that accept abortion, gay life styles, gay ministers, and gay women pastors. We have a drug war we can't win, illegal immigration that no one seems to care about, cities that forbid law enforcement to report illegal citizens, and everyone wants free health care. We have banks that have failed due to evil greed. We have 70% of the population who call themselves Christian's but don't believe the Bible is the true Word of God, and say there are many roads to get to heaven. We have television shows, movies and music that scream pornography. We have no justice in our courts. We have kids having kids and no way to support them. Our science messes with stem cell research and can now create their own babies. We have children with sexually transmitted diseases in the 8th grade, and they are not ashamed of it. They have sex in the bathrooms and under the desks. We have many people with no or little conscience.. We have adults that keep buying things they can't afford to pay for, and think it's OK. Oh, but wait just a minute, I forgot they can file bankruptcy. AND now we are leaving our kids, and their kids, and their kids, with a debt they will never be able to pay. Oh! And Christians are not allowed to pray because it may offend an atheist.
AMERICA YOU SHOULD BE REAL PROUD OF YOURSELF. KUDOS TO THE LIBERALS!

IS IT TOO LATE FOR CHANGE?
We wonder why our children have no respect, boundaries or moral code.
Or why so many people lack a conscious for wisdom that God bestowed.
Our leaders, congress and government officials are derelict in behavior.
We put faith in them or rely on our own understanding looking for a Savior.
We are amiss for not teaching our children the principles of integrity honor and truth.
We are guilty of greed, sexual perversion, and abortion instead of helping our youth.
Our two party systems are failing because everyone wants to tear each other apart.
Both democrats and republicans have worthwhile agendas so we need to take heart.
Arnold Schwarzenegger stated when he became governor it was no longer just Me but We.
Our officials need to hear the people and put party affiliations aside agreeing to disagree.
Staunch democrats and republicans are not open or willing to change their positions.
Even if they know their party is wrong they stand firm because of their ambitions.
Since government is fallible, so too, are the laws of the land.
Christians respect authority we acknowledge it and understand.
But if public officials go against God’s laws we cannot follow their way.
We do not judge our brother as Jesus sits on the throne and for them we pray.
Validation from God’s Word tells us that we are living in the Birth Pangs of Revelation.
The end of days is about a one-world government and the anti-christ’s organization.
Our God is the Alpha and Omega and He wants you to give Him your soul.
So it is never to late to change the hearts of men because God is in control.

3. Sheep have no defense system. (People have no Biblical knowledge)
4. Sheep don’t know how to feed properly. (Drugs, alcohol, gluttony)
5. Sheep will follow their Master. (Regardless of who he is)
6. Sheep know their Shepherd. (People know right from wrong)
7. Sheep know their Shepherd’s voice. (People make their own choices)
DO YOU KNOW WHO THE SHEPHERD IS? ARE YOU A SHEEP OR A GOAT?
DO YOU HEAR HIS VOICE CALLING YOU HOME? WILL YOU FOLLOW HIM OR HIS ADVERSARY – SATAN?

2. Prayer acknowledges God.
3. Prayer communicates with God and exercises our relationship.
4. Prayer sets an example for our children.
5. Prayer strengthens our relationship with God.
6. Prayer changes our view of God.
7. Prayer changes us.
8. Prayer changes our attitude.
9. Prayer changes our speech.
10. Prayer changes how we see others.
11. Prayer changes our destiny.
12. Prayer gives us peace of spirit.
13. Prayer gives us peace in our soul.
14. Prayer allows the Holy Spirit to dwell in us.
15. Prayer gives us God’s nature to love the brethren.

THE NINE GIFTS
THE NINE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
1 Corinthians 12: 8-10
The first is the gift of Wisdom and the way to receive it is through prayer.
Solomon prayed for this gift so he could rule his kingdom without despair.
There are diversities of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit but all are one part.
Paul reminds us we have different members but are baptized in one heart.
The second is the gift of Knowledge, which gives wise advice that is sound.
The third is the gift of Faith that God’s Word without doubt will abound.
The forth is the gift of Healing for people who are physically or mentally sick.
The fifth is the gift of working Miracles that the Apostles did without a trick.
The sixth is the gift of Prophecy and preaching the Good News of man’s salvation.
The seventh is the gift of Discerning Spirits whether they are from a good or evil creation.
The eighth is the gift of Tongues that is languages never learned or heard.
The ninth is the gift of Interpretation of tongues, a gift that is preferred.

Does God Exist? - complex question...simplistic answer
God: Does He Exist?
God may not be provable through mathematical formulae or properties of physics, but we live in an era where the evidence of God is all around us. Just look through the Hubble Telescope and peer to the edge of the massive cosmos. View the monitor of an electron-scanning microscope and delve into the intricate world of an organic cell. Sit down and read an entire library of information that reveals the complexity of the digital code that turns a fertilized egg into a human being. Study principles of quantum mechanics and investigate the world of extra-dimensionality. Review the nature of your conscience, subconscious, standards of morality, thoughts of religion. Then, try to reconcile all of these realities with a basic theory of randomness. Not believing in God is much more of a “leap of faith” than ever.
God - A brief summary of the key arguments:
Order... God provides the best explanation for abstract notions, such as numbers, formulas and properties.
Causation. God provides the best explanation for the existence of the universe and all that is in it.
Design... God provides the best explanation for the complex order in cosmological and biological entities.
Morality... God provides the best explanation for the existence of objective moral/ethical values in the world. In Romans 5:12, we read that “sin entered the world through one man, and through sin - death, and thus death has spread through the whole human race because everyone has sinned.”

Newsweek has distorted Biblical teaching!
Newsweek magazine has published a lengthy article stating that the Bible supports homosexual marriage. The article was written Lisa Miller, Newsweek religion editor. Miller's article is one of the most biased and distorted pieces concerning homosexual marriage ever published by any major news organization. The article is much too long for this e-mail. Olbermann's Appalling Video
THIS ASTOUNDS ME! I AM APPALLED BY HIS VIDEO
I ASK YOU.......
Where is this man's tears for the millions of babies being put to death for stem cell research? Where are his tears for those innocent babies that are viable and can live outside the mother's womb? Where are his tears for the Christians and Jews who are being persecuted and killed all over the globe? Where are his tears for Christian religious freedoms being mocked and outlawed in our own country? Where are his tears for the victims of the terrorists? I am appalled at his tears. Homosexuals have rights, and well they should. But when they want to take our rights away, our values, our moral ethics, our sense of honor - then there's a problem. Let them live together, let them love each other, leave them in peace. But don't allow the minority to rule or take away the Word of God......One woman, One Man - the Bible says in the OLD TESTAMENT:
ECCLESIASTES 9:9 - " Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of they vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun."
There are many more Scriptures throughout the Bible that testify of God's intention for marriage.

Because fetal 'tissue' is in demand and preserving it is difficult, some partial birth abortion doctors are now, over-dilating the women so they have their babies early on the second day, in the motel room. The women and their living babies are brought to the clinic and the baby is not killed until the sales representative arrives to pick him/her up. Then, the doctor quickly strangles or drowns the baby and delivers it to the messenger who sells the 'tissue' to pharmaceuticals and other companies who use 'fetal tissue'. The advantage here is to deliver very fresh 'tissue' to the companies. Thus, the abortionist can make $3000 to $5000 for the partial birth abortion and quite a bit of extra bucks on selling the baby's body for 'fetal tissue research'. This information was obtained from Michael Crutcher's new video magazine. A woman who worked as a pickup messenger for 'fetal tissue' is interviewed on this video. As you do, trust that God will give you that "stick-through-thick-and-thin-friend." Companions are easy to find, but can be unreliable. Our nation, America the beautiful, is being ruled by deceit. (1)
We throw up our hands, shake our heads, and accept defeat.
We are frustrated to the point of sticking our heads in the sand.
But my fellow Americans it is imperative that we take a stand.
The judges, lawyers, and radical liberals are changing our laws.
They are claiming our constitution and beliefs have flaws.
For two hundred years we have been blessed under God’s grace.
Today there is no God, no morals, and no decency, barely a trace.
We’re accepting the minority of people to change our standard.
We are allowing our way of life and ideals to be slandered.
Soon Pastor’s will be prohibited to quote God’s word or minister.
Evil ones are hell bound and will rule with a justice that’s sinister.
Godliness exalts a nation, but people’s sin is its reproach. (2)
Pray for revival, for it is Satan’s domain we encroach.
Pray for the sanctity of marriage and all that’s good and pure. (3)
The darkness of principalities is replacing God’s name for sure. (4)
Let us pray that the end days will be cut short. (5)
And the Lord will come soon to rule His court.
We will fall as all empires do that are filled with sin.

Though the rule of decency crumbles and falls.
We live in turbulent and unpredictable times.
With chaotic behavior and horrendous crimes.
Boundaries are not respected and people are uncouth.
They have lost their way and can’t tell the lies from truth.
Religions now follow whatever it is that man desires.
Faith hope and charity is not what their heart inspires.
People accept evil manipulation of the elect.
Not caring that men themselves are derelict.
The world is off its axis and we all suffer.
The Bible tells us that the future will get tougher.

ATHEISTS - Ask Them This...
ATHEISM
Some atheists believe that life is a power and energy of their own will and mind. (Ps.14:1)
They credit a magnetic field of the universe or a force that is not easily defined.
They completely discredit the history of the Bible and mock those who believe.
They give credence to medians and psychics, or karma, for what they will achieve. (Lev.20:27)
They believe you live and die, and that is all there is, and claim to be satisfied. (Ecc.3:11)
Some atheists are evil and their horrific crimes tells us they are very unsatisfied.
They do not believe in good or evil, heaven and hell, or consequences for their action. (Ge.1:1), (Ge.2:4), (Ps. 50-6), (Isa. 51:6)
Some atheists believe the spirit of life lies within themselves and the law of attraction. (Ge.2:27), (1 Co.3:16)
They discredit intelligent design and the balance of nature with continued resistance.
They will believe in anything except the possibility of God’s omnipotent existence. (Isa. 44:17-18)
They ignore the natural order of the universe and the magnificent detail of creation. (Ge.chp.1), (Heb.1:10)
They refuse to admit that mathematics and science can’t explain the atoms formation.
They don’t consider interstellar space, the vast universe, or the miracle of a baby’s birth. (Job chap.38)
They don’t acknowledge the intricacy for the detail of all the creatures upon the earth. (Job chap.39)
They can’t explain why human’s beings who are highest on the food chain ended evolution. (Ge.1:26-30)
Man is the only form of life that can think and reason, but no one can give a sound resolution. (Ge.2:9,16,17)
If atheists can believe in energy, power and force, then why not intelligent design? (Col.3:2)
If they would open their minds and hearts they would see that there is a God who's Divine. (Mt.7:7), Mt.22:37)

If you put pieces of a camera in a box and shook it for a million years, or infinity, do you think when you opened the box the camera would put it self together just by chance? Well, that is what the big bang theory teaches.
If you consider the human body down to the smallest particle known to man you will see that everything has a purpose and master plan from an intelligent designer. That designer left us with his name, address, and phone number. If you don’t know him you are missing out on an incredible journey of love like you have never known.
His name is – God, in Hebrew it is Yahweh.
His address is – Heaven, all you have to do is look at the beauty around you.
His phone number is – The Bible, it’s a wireless call.

Some atheists believe that life is a power and energy of their own will and mind. (Ps.14:1)
They credit a magnetic field of the universe or a force that is not easily defined.
They completely discredit the history of the Bible and mock those who believe.
They give credence to medians and psychics, or karma, for what they will achieve. (Lev.20:27)
They believe you live and die, and that is all there is, and claim to be satisfied. (Ecc.3:11)
Some atheists are evil and their horrific crimes tells us they are very unsatisfied.
They do not believe in good or evil, heaven and hell, or consequences for their action. (Ge.1:1), (Ge.2:4), (Ps. 50-6), (Isa. 51:6)
Some atheists believe the spirit of life lies within themselves and the law of attraction. (Ge.2:27), (1 Co.3:16)
They discredit intelligent design and the balance of nature with continued resistance.
They will believe in anything except the possibility of God’s omnipotent existence. (Isa. 44:17-18)
They ignore the natural order of the universe and the magnificent detail of creation. (Ge.chp.1), (Heb.1:10)
They refuse to admit that mathematics and science can’t explain the atoms formation.
They don’t consider interstellar space, the vast universe, or the miracle of a baby’s birth. (Job chap.38)
They don’t acknowledge the intricacy for the detail of all the creatures upon the earth. (Job chap.39)
They can’t explain why human’s beings who are highest on the food chain ended evolution. (Ge.1:26-30)
Man is the only form of life that can think and reason, but no one can give a sound resolution. (Ge.2:9,16,17)
If atheists can believe in energy, power and force, then why not intelligent design? (Col.3:2)
If they would open their minds and hearts they would see that there is a God who's Divine. (Mt.7:7), Mt.22:37)

THANKSGIVING
Thank you Lord, you are an awesome God who is wondrously divine.
Thank you Father for the Holy Spirit with a nature perfectly Sublime.
Thank you King of Kings for the mercies you show us each and every day.
Thank you Good Shepherd for keeping your sheep and not letting them stray.
Thank you Jehovah for your mighty powers displayed by witness of the earth.
Thank you Almighty God for the Gift of salvation through Jesus’ birth.
Thank you glorious Prince for giving us peace that passes all understanding.
Thank you El Shaddai for those times we struggle and still remain standing.
Thank you Elohim, the highest God whose love is so amazing, and so kind.
Thank you Shammah, who is always present in our hearts, word, and mind.

Open letter to my Christian friends...
To my Christian friends:
There are troubles all over the world. For those of us in Christ we need not fear:
We are the witnesses of the "Birth Pains" that is spoken of in Revelation, prior to the rapture. I long for Revelation. chapter 21:1 - "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." And the last verse: (27) "And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life."
Romans 13:1 tell us "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." In 1 Timothy 2:1-2 we are told, "Exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving thanks, be made for all men; For Kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."
Time is short and will only get worse. This country and the world over are on a downward spiral. I don't know why God put President elect Obama in power, but He did, and we need to respect that. If America falls and is taken down to her knees than that is a good thing. When civilizations lose their sense of morals, they all fall. I just pray for the days to be cut short. I read where 54% of Catholics voted for Obama (much to the regret of the Bishops who do not condone abortion). Voting for Obama was, and is not a race issue - it was a moral issue for Christians and conservatives. It's a scary world we live in. We will be leaving a mess to our kids and grandkids that they may never clean up. But as Christians our hope is not in this world. We have a heavenly home and await our King Jesus. We need not fear. I pray for President elect Obama and the world over. I pray for Jesus to cut the days short and come soon!

Subject: Regarding Security
To The White House:
Although I am a conservative republican and did not vote for Mr. Obama I am can not help but be excited that an African American will be in the White House. I have lived through the Civil Rights Era and my husband was in Viet Nam. Those were bad times for our nation and now we will be be facing even harder times.
I implore the powers to be from the Secret Service to the CIA and, FBI. to not drop the ball in security as it did with 9/11. Please protect Mr. Obama and his family. I also implore the democratic party not to drop the Patriot's Act because we need that system more than ever. If we had it in place before 9/11 that horror would never have happened. Thank you and be blessed.

He Is The Word - Scriptural Poetry That Answers Biblical Questions
Hello,
My name is Estelle and I have just created this blog. I also have a website, www.Heistheword.com. I am a published author of, He Is The Word, through Publish America. Any royalties I make from my book go to The American Bible Society. I write poetry. I teach English as a second language as a volunteer, and I also volunteer for the Red Cross.
Now that the elections are over we can all take a deep breath and move on. As a Christian who trusts in God's Word as truth I don't put my faith in people. In Romans 13:1 we are told "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." So I pray for the safety of our nation and for the people who rule it. Be blessed. Estelle.
