Joseph was a descendant of Abraham and destined to be the husband of Mary.
After they became betrothed Virgin Mary was with child and Joseph was wary.
In spite of Mary’s condition Joseph took her away so she would not be stoned.
Out of love he did this for her because he knew she would be disowned.
What compassion Joseph had for Mary even though he felt dishonored and pained.
Then an angel came to Joseph in a dream and told him to wed Mary and not be ashamed.
He told him the child Mary carries will give everyone life for He is the King and Savior.
He told Joseph the child’s name will be called Jesus Immanuel and with God he has favor.
So Joseph obeyed the angel and took Mary to his home to keep her safe and be his bride.
His marriage was chaste until after the child was born beginning anew with nothing to hide.
Little is said of this faithful man who loved Mary even when he felt she did him wrong.
What a wonderful man to protect Mary and honor God while keeping his principles strong.
